A pole sign is the single most visible way to put your Lake Isabella business on the map for drivers traveling Highway 178 and visitors heading to Lake Isabella itself. If your storefront sits back from the road or competes with other businesses along the corridor, a tall, well-lit pylon sign makes sure people find you first. TM Signs and Graphics designs, fabricates, and installs pole signs built to handle the Kern River Valley’s intense summer heat, high winds, and year-round UV exposure.
TM Signs and Graphics has been building commercial signage across Kern County for years, and we know the specific challenges Lake Isabella business owners face. Extreme summer temperatures that crack cheap materials. Wind gusts that barrel through the valley and stress poorly engineered structures. UV exposure that fades low-quality graphics in a single season. We design every pole sign to handle all of it.
We also handle the permitting process from start to finish. Kern County has specific setback requirements and height restrictions for freestanding signs, and getting it wrong means delays or fines. We have worked with the county enough to know what gets approved and what does not. That saves you time and money.
Beyond pole signs, we offer a full range of commercial signage. Business owners who need additional visibility can pair a pole sign with blade signs in Lake Isabella or add 3D sign lettering to their storefront for a complete branded presence. One company, one point of contact, everything done right.
Pole signs and monument signs both grab attention from the road, but they solve different problems. A pole sign lifts your branding high above the ground, making it visible from hundreds of feet away. That matters in Lake Isabella where commercial lots often sit below road grade or behind parking areas. Monument signs sit close to the ground and work best when your building is already visible and you just need an elegant marker at the entrance.
If your business depends on catching drive-by traffic from Highway 178 or Lake Isabella Boulevard, a pole sign almost always wins. It is taller, visible from farther away, and can be illuminated for nighttime travelers heading to or from the lake. Monument signs are a better fit for professional offices, gated communities, or businesses with strong walk-in traffic already.
TM Signs and Graphics builds both. We will tell you honestly which type fits your location, your budget, and your goals. If you want to see how ground-level signage looks, check out our work with monument signs across Kern County. But for most high-traffic Lake Isabella spots, a pole sign delivers the best return.
We serve business owners across the entire Kern River Valley, including Lake Isabella, Kernville, Wofford Heights, Bodfish, and Mountain Mesa. Whether your shop is along Lake Isabella Boulevard, near the marina, or tucked into a commercial strip on Highway 178, we design pole signs sized and positioned for maximum impact at your exact location.
We also work with businesses throughout Kern County, from Bakersfield to Tehachapi and everywhere in between. If you have multiple locations and need consistent branding, our team can handle that too. Business owners who also need durable outdoor signage often combine pole signs with aluminum and metal signs in Lake Isabella for wayfinding and secondary identification.
Kern County regulates freestanding sign heights based on your zoning district and proximity to the road. Most commercial zones allow pole signs between 20 and 35 feet, but specific limits vary. TM Signs and Graphics checks your parcel’s zoning and setback rules before designing anything so your sign gets approved the first time.
Yes. Kern County requires a sign permit for any new pole or pylon sign installation. You will also need an electrical permit if the sign is illuminated. We handle the full permit application process so you can focus on running your business.
Most projects take four to eight weeks from the initial site visit to final installation. Permitting timelines with Kern County can vary, but we submit clean applications to avoid unnecessary delays. Fabrication typically runs two to three weeks once the permit is approved.
It will if it is built correctly. Lake Isabella regularly sees temperatures above 100°F in summer and strong valley winds. We use commercial-grade steel poles, UV-resistant sign faces, and engineered footings designed to withstand these conditions. Cheap materials fail fast out here, so we do not use them.
Yes. If your landlord or shopping center has a pylon sign with open panel slots, we can design and install a matching tenant panel with your logo and business name. We match the existing sign’s dimensions and style so everything looks consistent.
TM Signs and Graphics builds pole signs that put Lake Isabella businesses above the noise and in front of every driver on the road. We handle design, permits, fabrication, and installation so you get one finished sign and zero headaches. Spots on our production schedule fill up fast heading into 2026, especially before peak tourist season at the lake. Lock in your project now. Call us at 661-379-6545 or submit your project details through our contact page and we will get back to you the same day.

TM Signs really came through for us on our exhibition Overtime. Mike and the installation team helped us get a pretty big print and install job done on a tight timeline, and the truth is, the wall we were dealing with wasn’t exactly trying to make anybody’s life easy. Uneven surfaces, weird hanging issues, all the fun stuff. But they figured it out, got everything printed in time, showed up and handled the install with care. This was our first time doing this kind of event so there were a lot of moving pieces and having a team that could stay calm and problem solve made a big difference. The work looked clean, the panels held up and the show turned out better because of them. I’d definitely work with Mike and his team over at TM Signs again.

TM Signs and Graphics in Bakersfield exceeded my expectations! I'm usually hesitant about ordering any prints for a business, due to the many variables that can affect its quality and especially color. As a designer, I appreciate their process and the top-notch quality of their deliverables. After trying many local print shops in Bakersfield, I can CONFIDENTLY say, TM Signs and Graphics is the friendliest and best printers town! They use vector files (.ai, .svg) for printing, setting them apart from other budget options nearby. TM Signs and Graphics is the way to go, recommend for superior results!
