A pole sign is the single most visible way to put your Delano business in front of Highway 99 traffic and local drivers who pass your location every day. With the flat terrain and wide-open sightlines along the 99 corridor, a tall, well-lit pole sign can pull in customers from half a mile away. TM Signs and Graphics builds custom pole signs for Delano business owners who are done being invisible from the road.
TM Signs and Graphics has been building signs for businesses across Kern County for years, and we know exactly what it takes to get a pole sign approved, built, and installed in Delano. We handle the City of Delano permitting process ourselves because we have done it many times and know what the planning department expects. That saves you weeks of back-and-forth.
We also understand local conditions that affect your sign’s lifespan. Delano summers regularly push past 100 degrees, and the valley wind can be relentless during spring. Every pole sign we build accounts for these factors with UV-resistant materials and engineered wind-load ratings. Our aluminum and metal sign work in Delano uses the same commercial-grade materials and local expertise.
We are not a franchise or a broker. We design, fabricate, and install in-house. When you work with us, you talk to the same people from first sketch to final inspection. That is why business owners across the valley keep coming back, whether they need a blade sign in Delano or a 30-foot pole sign on the 99.
Pole signs and monument signs both mark your location, but they solve different visibility problems. A monument sign sits at ground level and works well when pedestrians or slow-moving traffic need to find your entrance. A pole sign rises 20 to 40 feet or more, making it visible from hundreds of yards away. In Delano, where many commercial properties line Highway 99 and Garces Highway, that height advantage matters.
If your business sits close to the road with good sightlines, a monument sign might be enough. But if you are set back from the highway, positioned behind other buildings, or competing with surrounding signage clutter, a pole sign gives you the elevation to stand out. The flat landscape of the southern San Joaquin Valley means a tall sign has almost no obstructions.
TM Signs and Graphics helps Delano business owners choose the right option. We evaluate your site, your traffic patterns, and your budget before recommending a solution. Sometimes the answer is a pole sign. Sometimes it is a monument sign. We will tell you straight.
We install pole signs throughout Delano and the surrounding communities. Whether your business is on High Street downtown, along the Garces Highway commercial corridor, or near the retail centers off County Line Road, we design for maximum visibility from the streets that matter most to your customers. Business owners in nearby Shafter, McFarland, Earlimart, and Richgrove also count on us for signage that performs in the Central Valley climate.
Delano’s growth along the Highway 99 corridor means more competition for driver attention every year. A pole sign with the right height and lighting puts your business above the noise, literally.
Pole sign height in Delano is regulated by the city’s municipal code and depends on your zoning district. Commercial zones along Highway 99 generally allow taller signs than interior streets. TM Signs and Graphics reviews the specific regulations for your parcel and designs your sign to the maximum allowable height so you get the best visibility the code permits.
Yes, the City of Delano requires a sign permit for any new pole sign installation. You will also need structural engineering plans and, in many cases, an electrical permit for illuminated signs. We handle all of this for you as part of our standard process.
Most pole sign projects take four to eight weeks from design approval to installation. The biggest variable is permitting, which can take two to four weeks depending on the city’s workload. Fabrication and installation move quickly once permits are in hand.
High-rise illuminated pole signs with LED cabinet faces are the best fit for gas stations and truck stops along Highway 99. They need to be visible from at least a quarter mile so drivers have time to exit safely. We build these signs with energy-efficient LED modules that cut electricity costs and stay bright in Delano’s dusty conditions.
Absolutely. We retrofit existing pole structures with new sign faces, LED lighting upgrades, and fresh branding all the time. If the pole and foundation are still structurally sound, a retrofit can save you significant time and money compared to a full replacement. We inspect the existing structure first and give you an honest assessment.
TM Signs and Graphics builds pole signs that put Delano businesses above the competition, literally and visually. Every week you operate without proper signage is a week of lost customers driving right past your door. We are taking new Delano projects now, and our team will get back to you the same day. Submit your project through our contact page or call us at 661-379-6545. Your sign should be working as hard as you do.

TM Signs really came through for us on our exhibition Overtime. Mike and the installation team helped us get a pretty big print and install job done on a tight timeline, and the truth is, the wall we were dealing with wasn’t exactly trying to make anybody’s life easy. Uneven surfaces, weird hanging issues, all the fun stuff. But they figured it out, got everything printed in time, showed up and handled the install with care. This was our first time doing this kind of event so there were a lot of moving pieces and having a team that could stay calm and problem solve made a big difference. The work looked clean, the panels held up and the show turned out better because of them. I’d definitely work with Mike and his team over at TM Signs again.
